Those who are familiar with my journey through the world of puzzles may know that of the very first pencil puzzles I learned (other than sudoku) was Heyawake. Others may know that I am quite partial to irregular shaped regions regardless of genre and have made several GAPPs with funny shaped regions. Well, I'm in luck, because those two concepts fuse perfectly for this most wonderful variant!
Today's GAPP is a Heyawacky!
Rules: Shade some cells so that no two shaded cells are orthogonally adjacent and the remaining unshaded cells form one orthogonally connected area. Numbered regions must contain the indicated amount of shaded cells. A line of consecutive unshaded cells may not cross more than one bold border.
Variant: The regions are wacky shapes (Non rectangular)!
The very first GAPP ever was a Heyawake, and a common variant of it has been done a couple times as well, so there are plenty of resources in this channel for extra practice 😉

For a Speedy Sloth🦥 , finish in under 3:00
For a Quick Crab🦀 , finish in under 6:22
Finish in anytime at all for a Noodley Squoodley Blue-Footed Booby 🐦
