First of all, congrats to @Lavaloid, @quanticlenny, @mightcould, and @Oktendooo for guessing today's (base) genre correctly and earning a fancy lil bonus otter 🦦! Those of you who took an L and didn't get it right today have more chances for the rest of the month-- remember to put your guesses in spoiler tags!

Today's genre is a variant of a genre invented by our very-own lovely @shyeheya, and a fan-favorite of the CtC server! This variant combines the genre with the shading clue type of Yajisan-Kazusan, so if you're already familiar with both, you should be cooking with gas! Stick around at the end for some software notes, for those of you who need them!

I really hope you enjoy this La Paz (Yajisan-Kazusan)!

Rules: Shade some cells so that no two shaded cells are orthogonally adjacent and divide the remaining unshaded cells into two-cell regions. A clue indicates the number of shaded cells which lie entirely within the same row or column as the region containing the clue (e.g. if the two cell region is horizontal, the number refers to its row).
Variant: Clued cells may be shaded. If they are, the number inside is meaningless.

As always, an example puzzle is provided with the main puzzle, for those of you who need some practice to fully understand the rules! Try that puzzle here (Penpa+): https://tinyurl.com/2zw7c9ww

Software notes: Press tab to more quickly switch between edge and surface modes! Also, for answer check to pop, ensure that every shaded cell is completely surrounded by edges.
