Today we have a latin square genre which always sparks similar comments, so I'll address it up upfront. No, this is not a sudoku. Yes, there are similarities between it and other latin squares 😅 . This particular genre has very local logic and I'm a big fan of local deductions. I'll provide an absolutely silly amount of links, but I strongly suggest not using Puzz.link as pencilmarks are probably going to help you a lot. You got this!

Today's GAPP is a Minarism!

Rules: Place a number from 1 to N into each cell so that each row and column contains every number from that range with no repeats, where N is the side length of the grid. Numbers in cells with an inequality sign between them must satisfy the inequality. Numbers in cells with a number between them must have a difference equal to that number.

Feel free to think of it as tiny thermos and difference dots if that helps 😉 . Feel free to ignore this statement if that doesn't help 🤌 .

I apologize for how difficult this will be to put into Mind the GAPP, truly. (emoji) :blobheart:

March was a weird month in terms of scheduling, and it may contain the most days where we had substitutions between setters, or tester/bakdaddy puzzles (don't quote me on that but feel free to look into it and tell me if it's true though, I'm curious but lazy to check it myself)

We now have 17 of these Mind the GAPP documents, that means we've had 17 whole months where we delivered a genuinely approachable pencil puzzle to our solvers, and we also celebrated our 500th day of GAPP with a themed celebratory puzzle pack from our setters.

This is also the third month I've had the self imposed burden cough, privilege of bringing you the MTG document, and I'm loving it despite the effort required. As always, there some bonus puzzles without animal times associated with them at the end of the document, and some of them are quite spicy. My own contribution is just a small showcase of a really cool piece of logic I discovered in one of my favourite genres.

We hope you enjoy them, and please read the intro for a personal message from me about the importance of today.

Much love as always,
