Today’s puzzle is by Menderbug! He’s traveling home from the WPC today, so I’m posting on his behalf.
On this fine day, we’ve gathered to watch the final event of the Puzzle Pentathlon: Pentominous Running! 🏟️ 🏃 Pairs of competitors have gathered and are preparing to circle around the track, starting from the outside and spiraling inwards. How quickly can they reach the center?
Rules: Divide the grid into regions of five orthogonally connected cells so that no two regions of the same shape share an edge, counting rotations and reflections as the same. Clued cells must belong to a region with the pentomino shape associated with that letter.
Note: The pentominoes are labeled with letters below the puzzle in the provided image; you can also open the genre rules page (Help > Rules, at the top) and check the first solved example to see the correspondence of letters to pentominoes.
