Walkthrough for yesterday's Pipelink: https://youtu.be/VyICVHpjDpQ
Today's ✨ Fun with Food Friday ✨ is a Battenberg Painting! Yes, it's spelled Battenberg, not Battenburg like the Sudoku variant. You may also notice when solving or examining the example solution that some of the checkerboard symbols appear lighter than the others, even if they're the same color! Isn't it funny how our brain wo-- LOUD SIREN NOISE
⚠️ NEGATIVE CONSTRAINT ALERT ⚠️ NEGATIVE CONSTRAINT ALERT ⚠️
Rules: Shade some cells such that clues at the top indicate the number of shaded cells in that column, and clues on the left indicate the number of shaded cells in that row. Checkerboard symbols indicate ALL 2x2 areas that are shaded in a checkerboard pattern.
Two GAPP 101s:
- A checkerboard clue contributes exactly one shaded to each of the row/columns it touches. This means some of the rows/columns are already at their maximum/minimum value.
- A checkerboard clue has only two possible configurations. Look for places where one of the configurations would result in an unclued checkerboard.
