Logic Masters (Germany's national puzzle championship) is taking place this coming weekend. Which means I'm busy all week constructing and solving practice puzzles, and so you get a genre from the instruction booklet today, Tromino Divide. I'm actually really digging this ruleset, so I'm planning to revisit it at some point and save two of the three clue types for later (you can still get a taste of all three in the example puzzle). Just as a note, Eric's puzzle rules document lists this genre with a slightly different style of clues but I'm going with what Logic Masters will use.
Rules: Divide the grid along dotted lines into regions of exactly three cells. Clues separate two different regions with the following conditions:
- A black dot separates two regions with the same shape and orientation.
- A white dot separates two regions with the same shape but different orientations.
- A cross separates two regions with different shapes.
