Mind the GAPP Vol. 31
$GREETING $NAME! You have been chosen as the lucky winner of the $VOLUME_NUMBERth edition of $TITLE! This month we have $BONUS_COUNT bonus puzzles for you to solve. Enjoy! Now that Strange-Shaped Sunday is (basically) official, the idea of Mathsy Monday has fallen into obscurity, and for good reason - after all the weekend silliness, the last thing we need is more japes on Monday (except on bank holidays, maybe?)
The last puzzle in GAPP using all four mathematical operations was Walker's Math Path that happened to land on a Monday. So here's a TomTom that also happens to be on Monday. I'm sure that there's some truly marvellous maths that can help explain this apparent coincidence, but this intro is too short to contain it.
Rules: Place a number from 1 to N into each cell so that each row and column contains every number from that range with no repeats, where N is the side length of the grid. A clue represents the value obtained by applying an operation iteratively on the numbers in the region the clue is in. If no operation is given, it may be any of +, -, ×, or ÷. Subtraction and division in regions with more than two numbers are handled by taking the largest number and subtracting/dividing all the others.
Here are the previous appearances of TomTom in GAPP:2022-08-28-clover: 2022-01-19-fred:
Acquire a Speedy Sloth 🦥 by solving the puzzle in 3:00 or less!
Obtain a Quick Crab 🦀 by solving the puzzle in 6:00 or less!
And all solvers who complete the puzzle will be rewarded with an Arithmetic Arizona Woodpecker 🐦
