I imagine many of you have encountered a puzzle or two by the famed bachelor seal. They've got over 12000 puzzles to their name, having published 3 puzzles a day for many years (that's about 15 times faster than me!), and recently taking a well-deserved "rest" from assembling puzzles by only publishing one a day.

Bachelor spheal has truly made a lasting mark on history, perhaps more than any other pinniped before him. That's why we'll have to emboss an oval seal into every time capsule we create so their legacy can live on beyond mere human civilisation.

Rules: Place a number from the range given outside the grid into each empty cell such that each row and column contains every number from that range with no repeats. A clue in a shaded cell represents the difference between the largest and smallest numbers placed in a straight line in the indicated direction not obstructed by another shaded cell. If only one cell is visible, the clue instead gives the number in that cell.
