Selecting a genre for today's supersized puzzle proved somewhat challenging. In our spreadsheet, we track how many supersized features we've had by category and when each category last appeared. Initially I landed on Network or Snake (neither of which has been supersized this year), but no inspiration struck looking at available genres. Then I tried Path (last supersized in February) and wrote an Icelom, but ultimately decided having an ice puzzle with clues going up to 32 would maybe not be the best idea for GAPP. Eventually I just gave in and fell back on my trusted Kurotto, saving me once again.

Today's GAPP is a SUPERSIZED Kurotto (Connections)!

Rules: Shade some cells so that clues represent the total size of the orthogonally connected areas of shaded cells that share an edge with the clue. Clued cells cannot be shaded. Clues in grey circles must share at least one shaded group of cells with another clue. Clues in white circles must not share any shaded groups of cells with other clues.

Tip: If you find yourself stuck, keep the variant rule in mind. Diagonally adjacent white clues give some immediate progress as a consequence of the rules, which can be easy to overlook!
