Freddie Hand

The puzzle site https://puzzlepicnic.com/ was revived just recently. It's practically ancient history now but it had a great run from ~2011 up until ~2021 when it unfortunately shut down (I'm not too clear on the details). I always liked the site because of the wacky genres and the wacky grid shapes that appeared, particularly for square-cell puzzles. Much like the layout of this Ripple Effect, as befitting a Sunday.

Rules: Place a whole number into each (unshaded) cell. Numbers within a region must be 1-N, where N is the number of cells in the region. Two identical numbers in the same row or column must have at least that number of cells between them. Note that numbers can "see" each other across shaded cells!
