I often spend hours on writing and tweaking my GAPPs to make sure I'm happy with them. Last night I fell asleep before I even had a chance to start writing my puzzle though, and today is a regular workday, so in a race against the clock I wrote today's puzzle just now in about 10 minutes. Funnily enough I think this is one of my better GAPPs in recent times. If only it always went this smoothly...

Today's GAPP is a Canal View!

Rules: Shade some cells so that all shaded cells form one orthogonally connected area and no 2x2 region is entirely shaded. Clues cannot be shaded, and represent the number of shaded cells connected in a straight line horizontally or vertically to the clue.

GAPP 101: The amount of shaded cells you can place in one direction on a clue is often limited by having to avoid creating a 2x2 of shaded cells. If you've already placed some shaded cells near a clue, be sure to keep an eye out for how they might limit that clue.
