Hello everyone! We're halfway through August! That means it's time for a pattern hint: It isn't usually deterministic, but today was!
Congrats to @Cow, @kino, @Leo, @Nuujaka, @(Pierre is in a sock), @AkashG23 ♛, @tigerIsHere, @Lorem, @Leia, and @Rickium for earning a bonus otter 🦦 today! Hopefully we'll see more otters going forward!
Today's puzzle is an If I Could Be A Constellation, AKA Seiza, which recently got a lovely pzprxs implementation! Today's puzzle also comes with a GAPP 101.
Rules: Place a star into some cells such that every outlined region contains exactly one star and no two stars are horizontally, vertically, or diagonally adjacent. Draw horizontal or vertical lines connecting stars such that all stars form one connected network. Lines may not cross each other nor turn. Shaded cells cannot contain stars, and lines must not pass through shaded cells. A number in a region indicates the number of lines connected to that region's star.
To earn a Speedy Sloth 🦥, solve today's puzzle in 3:30 or less!
To net a Quick Crab 🦀, solve today's puzzle in 7:55 or less!
All other solvers are welcome to their very own Novel Nene 🐦!

GAPP 101: Watch out for connectivity! Regions clued with a 1 can very easily cause a network to become isolated, leaving its stars with no possible connection points to the rest of the network.
Interface note: I would recommend using "X" marks on edges of stars that can't contain a line. On mobile this is a little tricky, as you'll have to select the cross marks mode manually.
