Today's GAPP is a Castle Wall! I was very surprised to see we haven't had a classic feature since April 2023.
Rules: Draw a non-intersecting loop through the centers of some cells. The loop may not enter outlined cells. Outlined white cells must be inside the loop, outlined black cells must be outside the loop. Grey cells may either be inside or outside the loop. A number represents the sum of the lengths of loop segments in the indicated direction.
GAPP 101 🧐: If a white or black clue is one cell away from the edge of the grid, you can determine if the cell between that clue and the edge is passed through by the loop or not. If the clue cell is white, the cell must be passed through in order for the clue to be inside the loop, and vice versa. This deduction can appear in more elaborate forms as well. For example, if a white or black clue is two cells away from the edge and you have already determined one of the two cells between the clue and the edge cannot be visited by the loop, you can then determine if the loop visits the remaining cell or not.
